5. Patient Review & Call-to-Action Workflow
This article explains how to prepare for a veteran’s evaluation from the Patient Details Page. You’ll learn how the Call-to-Action Card guides your workflow, how to review uploaded medical records efficiently, and how PAQ’s support DBQ completion before the visit begins.
Call-to-Action Card
On the Patient Details Page, you’ll see the Call-to-Action Card at the top of the page. This card is your guided checklist for the evaluation and lists the actions you need to complete in order.
- Hover over an item to see a short explanation of what’s required.
- Select an item to jump to the correct section of the page. The section is highlighted so it’s easy to find.
- As you finish tasks, items are removed from the checklist to confirm completion.
Reviewing medical history
The first step is reviewing the veteran’s medical history. Veterans upload relevant documentation in advance of the appointment. This may include prior diagnoses, treatment notes, imaging reports, medication history, and other supporting records.
VetVantageMD summarizes these uploads to reduce review time. Instead of scrolling through lengthy PDFs, you’ll see a condensed summary that surfaces the most important details, such as diagnoses, medications, condition history, and prior assessments.
If you need to validate a specific detail, you can open the original document and cross-check the source content. Once you’ve confirmed the documents are sufficient, mark the files as Reviewed (or use any available “mark all reviewed” option) to clear this checklist step.
Reviewing submitted conditions
Next, review the list of conditions submitted by the veteran. These conditions determine what the evaluation covers and which DBQ’s are associated with the appointment.
Confirm the listed conditions align with the scheduled visit and your scope of practice so the correct documentation is completed during the evaluation.
PAQ’s and DBQ pre-fill
Before the appointment, veterans complete Personal Assessment Questionnaires (PAQ’s). These capture the veteran’s subjective reports, including symptom history, severity, frequency, and functional impact.
When a PAQ is submitted, VetVantageMD uses the veteran’s responses to pre-fill the corresponding DBQ’s on the provider side. This pre-fill primarily applies to subjective sections, so you can focus during the visit on validation, objective findings, and completing any remaining required fields.
