Doctor Dashboard & Appointments
This article explains what happens after your account is created, starting with the Doctor Dashboard and how appointments enter your workflow. You’ll learn how to manage appointment requests, approve or decline visits, and handle reschedules or follow-ups.
Doctor Dashboard overview
After logging in, you land on your Doctor Dashboard. This is your central workspace for managing evaluations and patient activity.
- View new appointment requests
- See upcoming and scheduled visits
- Quickly access patient records
Appointment requests
When a veteran schedules and pays for an evaluation, an appointment request appears on your dashboard.
Each request includes:
- The exam number
- The number of DBQ’s associated with the visit
Approving or declining appointments
Review each appointment request and choose how to proceed:
-
Approve — Confirms the appointment and moves it into your Upcoming Appointments.
-
Decline — Rejects the request. You’ll be prompted to provide a reason.
If you decline an appointment, the reason you enter is automatically sent to the veteran so they understand why the visit could not be accepted.
Veteran notifications
When you approve an appointment, the veteran is notified through multiple channels to ensure clear communication:
- Email notification
- Text message
- In-app notification
Accessing the patient record
Once an appointment is approved, you can open the patient record from several locations:
- The Doctor Dashboard
- The Patients page
- Your calendar by selecting the scheduled event
All paths lead to the Patient Details Page, where the evaluation workflow begins.
Reschedules and follow-ups
If an appointment needs to be rescheduled or requires follow-up, manage it directly from the calendar event or within the patient record.
-
Mark the veteran as present, late, or absent at the time of the visit.
-
If a veteran is late or absent, the platform can trigger notifications and guide them toward rescheduling.
-
After rescheduling, confirm the updated time appears correctly in your calendar and Upcoming Appointments.
Next steps
After accessing the patient record, you’ll begin the Patient Review process, including reviewing medical records, PAQ responses, and pre-filled DBQ information.
